Resumo
This study will analyse the impact of globalisation in the form of work and strategies outlined by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Itamaraty. Having as point of departure the discussion around the role of national states and Globalization. The study intends to understand in which way emerging powers from the periphery deals with new institutional challenges. Globalisation is here seen as a structural transformation of the international system, both in terms of its traditional state-centred view as well as in relation to the nodes of global power. Thus, the study takes stand in the believe that the end of the Cold-War bipolar system has created new forms of constraints, but also leeway for emerging powers trying to insert themselves in the new global order. From the perspective from the Brazilian diplomatic service, the intention of this study is to analyse the new paths faced by developing countries in order to find their way through the mists of the global highways.
