The objective of the present work was to improve the knowledge on employability within the context of the Brazilian universities in order to help the educational authorities to upgrade teaching activities at university level according to market expectations. Globally the results show that the Brazilian universities need to redirect their teaching aims in order to offer the market highly capable professionals. This can be achieved through a better academic and theoretical preparation of their graduates, to the level of the State of the Art, taking into consideration the demand for more and more specialised professionals, who are able to attain the highest possible performance in their field of activities within the organisation in which they work.
